I was reading this article on Gizmodo (lots from them lately I know) where they were talking about how Wifi on airplanes pretty much sucks but it likely to get better fairly soon. This reminded me of a time where I was taking an online class and we had a Wimba session. (Wimba is a virtual meeting room software system.) One of our students told us he was joining us from an airplane via inflight Wifi which was just amazing. Like self driving cars, inflight wifi will enable people to learn anywhere, anytime.
That’s not why I wrote this post though. There was a comment in the comments area that just made me stop and think.
