A Lesson for Teachers from the iPhone 4 Launch

I have mentioned on this blog several times now how fast technology can change.  I just saw that Apple sold 1.7 million iPhone 4s in the first 3 days. (source)

Ponder that for a second.  the iPhone is a portable, powerful computer that connects up to the internet, which is the most vast source of information ever created.  It is cheap enough to be accessible to most people.

This is how fast a new technology can spread.  The iPhone 4 is not disruptive, nor revolutionary, but this a lesson on how fast this sort of tech can get around.  Keep in mind this was all sold over 3 days.  Imagine what can change over summer vacation…  This is the Education Stormfront – the change on the horizon.
